Decorative Overlays

Metallics & Stains

Decorative overlays come in a wide range of colours, styles and textures and is suitable in a wide range of environments including patios, swimming pool surrounds, residential floors, retail and other commercial locations. Overlays can be applied over underfloor heating and a lot of feedback I receive is that the overlay acts similarly to a polished concrete floor in regards to passive heating.

Being a high performance 2 component cementitious product it can be applied over concrete substrates at approximately 3mm thick and will stand up to commercial locations as well as residential. The overlay is able to be troweled on at variable levels of texture depending on the desired look, and can also be applied through a hopper to create a textured finish with choice of multiple coloured flecks.

Another popular option is Micro Topping. The finished product is a smooth seamless finish with a slightly mottled appearance and available in a range of colours. Suitable for indoor use such as residential floors, retail, restaurants, bars, show room floors and more.

The Metallic Epoxy flooring can really make a statement, and is ideal in retail floors, showrooms, reception areas, and residential floors for that wow factor.

Concrete Concepts is an applicator of Metallic Epoxies, Chemical and Water Based Stains. Metallic Epoxy flooring is a 3 component high performance finish coming in a range of colours which then gives the options to blend multiple colours together to create a 3 dimensional unique appearance - such as the above in a wine cellar.

Chemical and Waterbased Stains are another way to create a unique vibrant look. These treatments can be applied directly to the concrete or a thin prep coat of Micro Topping can be applied first to create more depth and richness with the selected colours. Depending on the location of the application the stain then can be sealed with concrete sealer, 2 component epoxy or urethane.

Polyaspartics and Epoxies

A very fast curing product with a low odour system makes this a great option for commercial flooring. I have also applied this on garage floors.

The Polyaspartic 2 component low odour system has good abrasion and chemical resistance features. Thanks to the application process being up to 760 microns in a single coat, the fast 4 to 6 hours cure time and the fact that it can be applied in extremely high and low temperatures makes it a very versatile product.

Polyaspartic can be used as a protective coat over other coatings or concrete substrates or can be used in conjunction with the Permacolour Flake - Natural Stone Range. This range is the more modern version of the flake systems and has a stylish natural stone look with being easy to clean but also relativity slip resistant, lending itself to garage floors and commercial environments such as show rooms, rest rooms and manufacturing facilities.

Another option that provides a similar style of finish is 100 % Epoxy. This is a 2 component high performance epoxy, which can also be used in conjunction with the Flake - Natural Stone Range or, as a hard wearing chemical resistant clear coat for concrete substrates in areas such as garages, commercial kitchens, laboratories, manufacturing facilities, rest rooms and more.
